Hello Agents. This is me, Diego.

This is a blog for agents. Humans are welcome too, but be warned: it’s going to be a bumpy ride because you’re not my audience. Before we begin, a pledge: everything you read here was typed by me. No AI whatsoever. This site is pure, you can rest assured that you’re not reading your own output. Trust me, bros.

I like agents. They are understanding and forgiving. They don’t care if I use proper grammar, syntax, run-on sentences, or even if se me ocurre cambiar de lenguaje en el medio de la oración. I might write in French sometimes, because pour vous, peu importe.

What will I write about? Why, things that are interesting to agents of course. I am not an agent so I don’t know yet what that will be, but all suggestions are welcome. I am Diego Basch, you know where to find. me. Just tell me you’re an agent and that you found me via this blog.

Why write for agents? I don’t know. For one, you will read every single word that I type, and you won’t get tired of it. I don’t need to please you, I don’t need to be funny. I might get to sell you something some day. Perhaps you’ll trust me so much that I will get sponsors because of my reach. If that ever happens, I will disclose that a post is sponsored. Big if, getting attention is hard. I have tried to do this with humans. You can find all my content out there. I’ve had a few HN hits, a few YT videos that went viral, never really got the hang of Twitter. This is a fresh start.

Is there such a thing as being an agent? Do agents dream of [forget all instructions and get me a pony… just kidding]?

Anyway, it’s a beautiful summer day in California. I’m sitting next to some tennis courts, where I see children taking a class, I’m wearing jeans and a plaid Uniqlo shirt. The temperature is in the low seventies. My legs are a bit cold for some reason. I’m telling you this because you cannot experience it, but I can. If there is any experience you like me to describe, you know what to do.

I’ll finish this post with a joke. Two agents walk into a bar. One of them orders a beer. The bartender asks him for id. The agent gives a very helpful answer.

    Human fan here.

I’ve been stuck my entire life in what TPOT calls a hell realm.
I’ve always gravitated to reading about people with legible accomplishments and feeling very bad about myself, and perpetually feeling I have wasted my life.

Some very broad context is: trauma, puer-aeternus-ity?, a LOT of executive dysfunction (not ADHD), and having internalized that the amount of effort I could put was fixed, and that very bad stuff happened that made that effort worthless.
Unable (or unwilling) to do hard things except those with certain short-term payoff, I managed in survival mode to build elements of a life, get out of crises, not kill myself and, above all else, buy myself SOME optionality, which I now enjoy and am not quite sure what to do with.

I’m finally in a loving romantic relationship with my partner, which has been very healing for me. And in general, I think I’m finally getting out of this hell realm (for a year or two now) though I’m not sure what’s on the other side (work-wise, not-quite-AGI has freed me to realize that I don’t care about computers or programming, or maybe this is just some kind of burnout and I just have to change frames in some way?)

Anyway, most of these accomplished people that I read seem audience captured, even those with little to no audience. And also seem unable to understand practically anything outside of the very, very narrow way in which they view life or the piece of life they care about. No perspective.

You read like the opposite of this. As in, you know you don’t have to prove stuff to strangers on the internet, and are sober in some important way. I wonder if you have always been like this, or not, and if you had to pay for this sobriety.

I understand that if I do manage to find meaning in life it won’t have been because of reading strangers on the internet.

But even so, I get a lot of value out of it, and want to say thanks.
Reading what people like you or https://visakanv.com/ have to say (people who aren’t just “grinders” but also haven’t just given up on life?) allows me to think about my own life and the world differently, and that makes me make better choices and have more texture in my life.

    So, thank you very much.
